Over the years I’ve travelled widely and loved it. My heart and roots, however, remain stubbornly attached to the UK and to Pembrokeshire in particular. I’ve lived in Solva longer than anywhere else and yearn for it when I’m away.

Often I have tried to work out what it is for me that underlies my love of the outstanding natural beauty and variety of landscapes that occur here, within very short distances of one another. It’s partly the changing seasons and within them the fluctuations of weather, which tend to ignore the year’s natural rhythms. The weather is just as likely to drift with mist or crash into a storm in summer, as it is in winter. Pembrokeshire offers my soul a promise and never fails to keep it.

I’m happy to sign the book for you, if requested.
