St David’s Cathedral

This official site has a brief history of the building, details of services, festivals, exhibitions and staff. There are contact details for the Deanery Office and the main officials who can help with any information or spiritual guidance required. This is one of the most beautiful cathedrals in the UK with superb stonework and classically lovely ceilings. There is a well known musical festival held at the Cathedral annually. Behind the Cathedral is the Refectory which houses a cafe and just across the river are the ruins of the Bishops Palace.

Skomer Island

Skomer is one of the only marine natural parks in the UK.  It is cared for by The Wildlife Trust of South and West Wales who staff it and are a centre for information on all the wildlife there not just the ever present and wonderful Puffins who have become almost the symbol of the county of Pembrokeshire.

Caerfai Farm

One of the farms on the edge of St David’s which have adapted superbly to the need for change.  They have cottages and a camp site but locally are best known for the absolutely wonderful cheeses they make with milk from their organic cows – their cheddar is particularly fine and tangy.  We use it in the cafe here and gets lots of compliments for it.

Trehale Farm

Trehale is near Mathry and has developed a wide choice of rare breed pigs and sheep. Here the animals are raised in comfortable and safe conditions spending their lives outside though with a roof over their heads if they choose. Meats are for sale from the farm and from various local farmers markets. The family also take part in the Really Wild Food Festival each year. 2012 saw the launch of yurts of the luxury variety on the farm. 2018 launched entertainment venue.
