Food
Food is part of culture and in different countries besides reflecting what is grown there also hints at the history of a country. Spices in Morocco markets heaped in wonderful coloured powder mountains show the path these culinary magicians take to reach somewhere like the UK. Compare a cheese stall in the markets of France or Italy to a supermarket in one of our major cities and realize how impoverished our choices are - we are limited to what will travel well. Compare the bareness of a Cuban country market stall and know how they have been cruelly limited by the embargo against a country which surely did not deserve it. Mind you they may be poor in the material sense but they are rich in most other ways. Exploration of foods is always necessary for me if I am to begin to understand the people I am hoping to connect with. I like, of course, to try them too.
Post and packing free in the UK. If ordering from abroad please email for postage costs. Thank you.
